About Me
I am a native Roanoker. I attended college at Radford University and obtained my B.S. in Early Childhood Education and my Masters Degree in Counseling in 1981. I became licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Health Care Professionals in 1994. My 28 years of counseling has been obtained from working with a broad range of clients with a variety of issues working at Lewis Gale Medical Center, Family Services, and my own private practice.
My goal is to provide professional counseling for individuals, couples/marriages and those with alternative issues. As a breast cancer survivor, my approach is a combination of contemporary, traditional and holistic counseling techniques. You will find my office to be a comfortable living-room like setting conducive to privacy, safety and relaxation. Each session is tailored to meet the special needs of the client or clients. CONFIDENTIALITY is always in place except when permission is given by the client; this could occur if a professional referral is deemed necessary for medical or other reasons, or communication with family members.
